Students gain real-world job application skills at Eaton Industries
Recently, several students from Mrs. Griese’s advanced English class participated in a job application training course organized by Eaton Industries. Eaton Industries GmbH is an Irish subsidiary with its headquarters in Bonn and specializes in electrical switchgear, industrial automation, and drive technology.
The students were warmly welcomed by a company employee and two undergraduate students. After a brief overview of the day’s program, the participants took part in interactive games designed to help them get to know their strengths and each other better. This was followed by a presentation on the company itself as well as potential career opportunities at Eaton Industries.
Afterwards, the undergraduate students explained the application process in detail, including how to write an effective cover letter. In addition to learning about important do’s and don’ts, the students had the opportunity to ask questions and gain insight into the undergraduates’ personal experiences. Finally, the participants practised a simulated job interview, allowing them to apply their newly acquired knowledge in a realistic setting.
The day concluded with a feedback session in which the students shared overwhelmingly positive impressions of the program. They particularly appreciated its interactive and varied structure, which made learning both engaging and enjoyable. Overall, everyone agreed that this event was highly beneficial and is strongly recommended for future classes.
